Situation:
Our client, a European headquartered PE firm, approached us to support the professionalization of a multi-site healthcare services rollup. The mandate was to canvas the market to identify strong CFO candidates with progressive financial management experience in a publicly held or private equity sponsored healthcare services $200M+ company. We searched in this niche market, further refining our headhunting to target those CFOs with a track record of success in decentralized clinic and patient-centric organizations, possessing the characteristics of both an “operating CFO” and a “strategic CFO.” Our client had an interim CFO in place who they planned to interview alongside the other talent uncovered in the search.
Our Approach:
Taking a highly-targeted approach, the team identified 200+ potential candidates. We proceeded to headhunt each candidate through 7+ touchpoints and multiple interviews over phone and video. This resulted in several highly-qualified candidates of interest alongside their interim CFO. Each finalist flew out to our client, presented their strategic plans, and ultimately competed for the role. After extensive deliberation, the Interim CFO received a formal offer to continue with the organization, now backed by the full confidence of our client.

Our client was so impressed with the thorough approach the team took to canvassing the market for the ultimate organizational fit that they tasked the team with several more strategic hires - a Chief Development Officer and two additional VP-level, department-head, hires.
