Paradigm-Shifting Medical Device Startup
ROLE:
Lead Product Manager
THE CHALLENGE
While undergoing a comprehensive commercialization initiative for their disruptive technology, our client approached us with a critical need for an experienced Product Manager. This individual would be focused on driving product innovation, managing product roadmaps, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. As the inaugural Product Manager for our client, the ideal candidate needed a strong background in FDA-regulated product launches, as well as expertise in establishing strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
The incoming candidate would need to navigate between technical product development and strategic marketing. A hybrid background with both corporate and startup experience was required to bring a dynamic approach to product management. Talent pools were limited to those with a medical imaging focus and familiarity with high-tech, cutting-edge innovations.
OUR SOLUTION
Summit Search Consultants designed a comprehensive sourcing and evaluation process to identify the best-fit candidate. We identified and recruited 187 top-tier candidates with backgrounds at leading medical imaging companies such as Hologic, Canon Medical, GE, and Philips. These professionals brought firsthand experience of best-in-class standards and a proven track record of translating that expertise into success within the startup world. SSC interviewed 45 candidates from this pool, quickly identifying a Shortlist of 9 candidates.
The Result
Our client was thrilled to extend an offer to a skilled product manager with advanced expertise in product roadmaps, new product launches, and FDA submissions. The candidate’s ability to manage complex product strategies and cultivate relationships with KOLs made them an ideal fit for the role.
“After seeing the talent from the large strategics, and the mid-sized companies, I'm so happy we chose the candidate we did. He fits our culture, and our sense of urgency, and his work thus far has been amazing.”
