Hiring their first ever sales leader

THE CHALLENGE

  • Small, regional startup growing organically through word of mouth but looking for a leader to both sell, and build out the sales team and sales process.

  • Founders had posted ads on LinkedIn and Monster, with sub-par results.

  • Some candidates were leery of joining a small SaaS technology company in an industry where some property managers still worked off paper and pen.

  • FYVE leadership wanted a Senior Director of Sales also very well-versed in real estate transactions and property management.

OUR SOLUTION

  • SSC took the approach of looking for candidates currently in real estate, but with technology sales in their background.

  • Within 3 weeks, 10 candidates had been submitted and interviewed. The role was filled in 4 weeks.

  • The Vice President of sales was hired in September of 2020, and is still with FYVE.
